International Master's Program

Integrated Assessment:
An integrated approach to solving complex socio/environmental problems

University of Osnabrück and University of Twente

In response to the need for a more comprehensive education program in the field of Integrated Assessment, an international Master's program is being established at the Universities of Osnabrück (in Germany) and Twente (in the Netherlands). Integrated assessment (IA) is commonly defined as the multi-disciplinary process that integrates knowledge about a problem and makes this information available for decision-making processes.

The program which will begin in October 2003, is intended to meet a demand highly requested by scientists and practitioners in the field of IA. The program will be based initially on available European-based teaching expertise and practical experience. It will in subsequent years expand its curriculum to a more international focus.

Start-up funding for this program has been generously provided by the federal state of Lower Saxony.
